Promises

I know not where it began
I know not where it will end
Prayers will fall on deaf ears,
As time is time and it will pass at such
unaltered by man
unaffected by wishes.
But within the time we are granted
You will own everything i can give,
Because within the haze of drink
and the darkness of night
you approached and stole that which is priceless
like ice you will place it on a pedestal,
i hope it melts before it breaks
so that it may take the shape of whatever you need it to be.
2 days timeless,
forever blindness
as love is blind
but love is bliss
so close your eyes and take a leap
happiness will catch you when you trip

Dreaming

awake in the end
for it felt no more than a dream
but now you look around you
and all you see are thorn bushes
no matter where you move they pierce you
the air clogged with smoke
breathing becomes difficult
and speaking results in choking
tears pool in the corners of your eyes
filling the ocean
flooding the world
drowning anything left alive
but that which can swim
but you can be submerged
as you need a rock to survive
so there you float
hoping to find land
eventually you will find your oasis in the watery desert
you will swim for hours
and when you arrive on the shore
you fall a slumber
only to awake again within the bushes
because love is a dream,
something you hoped for
but when it arrived you let it slip by
and when you lose it
all of your being is spent to find your support again
unbeknownst to yourself that if only you floated
the tides of life would carry you to a shore
where strength would still find you
and sleep would be your last venture
with no alarmclock
no thorns
no watery deserts

Love .45

I was unarmed yet still you drew on me
I looked into your eyes and you down the barrel
Your colt cold against my chest
But there I stood in front of your loaded weapon
Unmovable, unwavering
You pleaded that I run
Yet something held me there to that spot
I prayed you wouldnt pull that trigger
Sometimes you did faster than others
There were times your lips masked your intents
But always in the end
You could hear the double-action go click
And there in that spot I would fall
While the hot copper seared through me
And you walked on and aimed at another.
Sometimes the wound was nothing but a scrape
Others crippling
How i wished you would have just put me down at those times
But I would always recover
Each time finding you again
Standing there with your gun drawn
I would never aim back although I carried as well
I never wished to hurt you
Your name always changed
But your gun didn't
It was called love
